I appreciate you inviting me up to your cabin. It was extremely worthwhile and is giving me a lot to think about. Personally, I found making new connections the most valuable part of the experience. You did a great job moderating the discussion and keeping us on-point. It reaffirmed things I already knew and introduced new ideas (such as sherpas). The biggest weakness I found with the discussions was a few of the “ill-formed” questions, meaning, the “What do you need help with?” problem could’ve been more beneficial to people had they thought through it clearer. If everyone’s question is “How do I make more money?”, that’s important, but, for example, it may prove more effective to ask “What is my greatest weakness as a leader or How do I improve in this or that area? or Help me clarify xyz” – which should lead to greater profits. Most people were on track, but some may not have gained as much insight because most of their time was spent clarifying their issues (this may be intentional).
There was a wide spectrum of business expertise in the room which I found useful because sometimes it’s easier to improve my processes by seeing what NOT to do.
I loved the flow of events and felt like you did a great job maximizing our use of time.
Nice to party down afterwards and genuinely liked all the participants. Getting the hell out of Dodge at 7AM allowed me to not miss any of my Wednesday appointments. Great experience and there’s a few guys I plan on setting up lunches with.
Outstanding! I learned something from everyone there. Anyone can email or phone me anytime for anything. There was so much depth in your perceptions. It is a great format.
